Islamic Banking Unit
The Islamic banking unit is in charge of conducting Shariah applied research relevant to Islamic banking. Being in contact with Islamic banking industry, the unit is continuously identifying issues that are in need of Shariah conceptualisation, adaptation and solution. In pursuing its objective, the unit selects relevant topics and form research clusters comprising qualified researchers and senior researchers with backgrounds in Shariah, Law, finance, accounting and economics, or any relevant field depending on the nature of the research. For certain researches, the unit would conduct a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) involving academicians and industry players to evaluate the research outputs and provide recommendations. The completed research would then go through rigorous blind review then approved internally by an approving committee before it is published by ISRA as a research paper.
