About ISRA Journal

The ISRA International Journal of Islamic Finance (Journal) is a fully peer reviewed refereed journal, published bi-annually and aimed at academics as well as practitioners. It aspires to promote publications of written material on issues in Islamic finance, with an emphasis on Sharia’h issues particularly in the areas of Islamic banking, economics, finance, law and takaful. The inaugural issue was published in December 2009.

The Journal is unique because it not only publishes articles of academic rigour but also articles by practitioners who have experience in applied Islamic finance. The Journal also showcases the current research works being carried out by ISRA researchers under the heading ‘Research Notes’.

The Journal boasts a comprehensive International Editorial Advisory Board comprising Shari’ah scholars and academicians. These members contribute their vast experience to the Journal by refereeing the articles submitted; offering advice to the Editorial Committee and also contributing articles to the Journal themselves.

It is the aspiration of the Editorial Committee that the journal achieves the highest rank in quality and substance. It is thus our aim that the Journal be carried in the Thompson ISI database or by Scopus. By ensuring high standards in articles published for Islamic finance we ensure that further innovation and research is carried out and promoted in the Islamic Finance Industry and academia.
